The apple of Pharaoh's eyes

Posted by Schiffman's at 2:33:20 AM in Slane (32)

Since time immemorial, one of the most in-demand stones among kings, pharaohs and other monarchs is the lapis lazuli. This stone was among the most prized in ancient times for its alluring color of profound, celestial blue and for the precious ultramarine dye it produces. Formed by a plethora of minerals like pyrite, calcite and lazurite, the lapis until today continues to be a symbol of royalty, power, honor, as well as truth and wisdom. This apple of the nobleman's eye headlines Slane's highly-acclaimed Solis Collection, which features a radiant 18k yellow gold, a sterling silver sun with .14ctw diamonds in the center, all embedded in a scintillating lapis gem. Thanks to Slane, you don't need to have a royal blood in your veins to live like how pharaohs and the Egyptian aristocrats had once lived. Get your Solis Collection piece now.

No Frills, Just Honesty

Posted by Schiffman's at 12:00:10 PM in Slane (32)

Slane offers something different than other brands. Most brands would tell you how great they do in creating jewelry. They would brag about how hard it takes to make a piece or how unique their pieces are and all that. Well, some brands can pull this off as they really create great works of art. But what Slane offers is something intangible and valuable – truth, authenticity and honesty. Just take one look at any Slane piece and you’d know that it had been designed with great care and honesty. There is no shade of puffing up or boasting. Slane pieces are not just showpieces that everyone can behold and adore. They are mostly gifts coming from the heart of two sisters that know every woman deserves truth, authenticity and honest – even from the jewelry they wear.

Emotionally charged

Posted by Schiffman's at 9:00:00 AM in Slane (32)

My girlfriend got upset one day when she lost her Slane pendant. She couldn’t remember where she left it; probably she took it off while washing her hands in a public restroom and forgot to replace it. I gave it to her as a birthday gift last year so she must be feeling depressed losing something that reflects my, well, love. I told her it doesn’t matter. She lost a jewelry (I cringed deep inside of course; that Slane cost me bucks), not my love. I felt so cheesy but it was only a way to get her out of the blues. I thought I’d buy her another Slane to make up for the loss. When I got home I got a call from her. She was excited. She found the bracelet in her suit jacket. That’s the "problem" with Slane. People develop an emotional attachment to it.

The Slane Appeal

Posted by Schiffman's at 8:00:00 AM in Slane (32)

There’s a royal feel to the Slane Fleur De Lis theme that runs across rings, earrings and pendants. In sterling silver or 18k yellow gold, the theme is accented with diamonds for added elegance. It is perfect for a luxurious event when first impressions count. If sterling silver and diamonds are not your thing, Slane’s pearl jewelry is equally alluring. It features single pearls with birthstone or tassel as an accent. The Slane pearl jewelry is also available in strand, single and double, for a more elaborate luxury. For a classic look, Slane Vintage is intricately designed for an impressive appearance. The patterns include basket weave, bee and fenestra, which are captured in detailed designs. Slane has more collections, each one reflecting a distinct appeal in luxurious style.

Feels Like Love

Posted by Schiffman's at 8:25:00 AM in Slane (32)

Sometimes, just the feeling of falling in love can be all the inspiration one needs to have that one bit of sunshine in an otherwise gloomy day. Just the thought that you may have found your one-and-only can be so thrilling. Love is all. Rich or poor. Talented or useless. Brave or cowardly. Love is Humanity's Universal Constant. Call them in-love, but 15 Years after founding Slane Fine Jewelry, Heath and Landon continue to lovingly help every customer create her own look and (love) story. Each piece, each collection, is designed with this in mind, knowing that today’s designs will become tomorrow’s heirlooms. Slane pieces are more than just silver and gems – they are a representation of that person you think about all the time. You can’t force yourself not to. You say, “Okay, today I will not think about him or her.” But even being deliberate always backfires and you just end up looking at that Slane pendant again.

Let the sun shine

Posted by Schiffman's at 5:00:00 AM in Slane (32)

The sun shines on Slane, ever. The Slane Solis Collection, a range of sun-inspired designs that run across the brand’s earrings, pendants, and rings is both classic and contemporary. The sun itself is etched and embossed like in Renaissance art, with each ray creating their own movement and unique lines in yellow gold. The round middle is encrusted with diamonds that literally create the scintillation of a thousand minute suns exploding at once and capturing a mesmerized eye. Various precious stones provide a luxurious backdrop; even as each stone threatens to steal the limelight from the sun accent. These include lapis, black mother of pearl, and turquoise that create a vibrant platform from which rests the embossed sun. An intricately crafted sterling silver or yellow gold provides an elegant rim and enclosure that make this Slane collection truly a shining piece.

Swirling sterling silver

Posted by Schiffman's at 10:00:00 AM in Slane (32)

Something about Slane jewelry’s Fenestra collection captures sensuality. Is it the slender, flowing lines that run across the collection pieces? The Fenestra sterling silver pendant in large and small sizes exudes infinity, an art piece that appears to have no beginning and ending. The lines flow smoothly perpetually, leaving you subtly hooked on looking how to get out of the swirling hoops. Similarly, the Fenestra pair of earrings exudes the same feel, dangling on French wires that suit a linear facial shape. The Fenestra sterling silver ring set with a diamond on the other hand follows the same thematic feel, which is at once a luxury item as it is a piece of wonder. The Fenestra collection is but one of Slane’s ingenious jewelry designs that set your style a cut above the others.

The Circle of Charms

Posted by Schiffman's at 8:00:00 AM in Slane (32)

Dynamic, fun and universal! That is the mark of a genuine sterling silver-made jewelry from Slane. The Slane sisters are not for minimalism, they are for elegance, style and more. More as in a lot! Usually, we buy charm bracelets to create our own distinct look, but sometimes the more we try to separate our look from the crowd, the more we tend to look odd and unfashionable. So as much as we want to look different, we should not forget to still remain cool and chic at the same time. The Slane sisters have solved this dilemma with one circle of charms—the Slane Multiple Charm and Gemstone Bracelet in Sterling Silver. This bracelet is from SLANE's Charm Collection and features a series of sterling silver chain links alternating with fixed charms and colored gemstones. The bracelet includes the following charms: Fenestra, Eros, Slane signature, Bee Free, Bee in Octagon, Hummingbird, and Rhea. The gemstones include white and black freshwater cultured pearls, lemon quartz, and amethyst. The bracelet features Slane's signature 'S' toggle closure and the toggle has a turquoise inlay. What more can we think of when we talk about sisters Heath and Landon Slane? Well, aside from they are queens of sterling silver jewelry, we cannot deny the fact that they are also fond (and fans) of bees. Sister Power

Posted by Schiffman's at 8:00:00 AM in Slane (32)

Your sister at one time or another may have been your most formidable opponent. And yes, you’ve had your share of fights growing up. They might take your stuff without asking, throw tantrums, embarrass you in front of other people, read your personal messages, and nag you until they get what they want, even if it takes years. Regardless, a sister is a precious gift. She is part of a sibling relationship that provides the other sibling with friendship, companionship and a sense of security.
But two sisters have amped this relationship to an even greater level. A love of nature, architecture, history and the arts inspired sisters Heath and Landon Slane to begin designing jewelry in 1997. Building on their relationship, Heath and Landon continue to design (15 Years after founding Slane Fine Jewelry) a palette of shapes and textures that can be built upon year after year, allowing each Slane collector to create her own look and story – providing an array of jewelries that are perfect ways to let you sister know how much she means to you and how much you appreciate all that she does.

Hexagon Beauties

Posted by Schiffman's at 1:00:00 AM in Slane (32)

It takes thousands and thousands of bee hours, tens of thousands of flights across the meadow, to gather nectar from flower after flower after flower, so it's reasonable to suppose that back at the hive, bees want a tight, secure storage structure that is as simple to build as possible. A honeycomb is that amazing structure that bees stores and build with honey, with every cell a “perfect” hexagon – having all six sides of equal length. Its visually-appealing proportions, "nature"-evoking associations, combined with its outright utilitarian, mathematical functionality makes the hexagon a formidable motif for any commercial or cultural venture.
Taking into account the optical attractiveness of honeycombs and the meanings they represent, sisters Heath and Landon Slane designed a whole new collection called “Honeycomb” that offers a palette of shapes and textures, a collection that best articulates the beauty of the honeycomb. Part of the collection is the Honeycomb Pave Diamond Ring in Sterling Silver that features pave set round diamonds in the center of an octagon shaped sterling silver setting.

Scintillating Solis

Posted by Schiffman's at 2:00:00 AM in Slane (32)

The sun is the star around which the earth orbits along with other eight planets. Yes, it is often said that the Sun is an “ordinary” stat. But for those of us who benefit from it, it is never an ordinary one. In fact because of its importance to us – being the central body of the solar system, its magnetism keeps the planets from wandering lifelessly in the space, and also it sustains life on Earth as the source of heat and light – it has been used in many different cultures and religions as a symbol of the divine, sometimes representing the cycles of death and rebirth towards evolution.
The Sun is personified in many cultures, one of which is in Roman mythology which calls the Sun, Sol. It also comes to life in Slane’s Solis Collection – a collection of sterling silver pieces that best depicts the glorious and scintillating beauty of the sun. It includes a 16/18 sterling silver rolo necklace that features a brilliant 18k yellow gold and sterling silver sun with approximately 14ctw of diamonds. Just like the sun, the Solis Collection by Slane is no ordinary collection.

The Sisters’ Choice

Posted by Schiffman's at 1:00:00 AM in Slane (32)

Moms know what we don’t tell, but sisters know what we do. Our sisters are the best friends in the world. You might have had few squabbles when you were younger, but the most embarrassing moments, most confidential secrets, the saddest heartbreaks and the happiest times are what we have shared with nobody else but our sisters. Heath and Landon Slane of Slane Jewelry can attest to that.
Originally from High Point, North Carolina, sisters Heath and Landon Slane began designing jewelry when they could not find fine, high-end, sterling silver jewelry. They felt that beautiful silver, in felt-lined cases, was being passed down from generation to generation, but, at that time, silver jewelry was mostly an afterthought. Today, Slane & Slane is creating the heirlooms of tomorrow by adding a modern twist on classic and elegant themes.
Landon’s influences for love of travel greatly affect the designs in Slane jewelry. Having a background in film and television, she is always in quest for aesthetic beauty. The clean lines in every Slane piece is noted to be inspired by the classic architectures and designs Landon have seen in her travel. She emphasizes that the simpler the jewelry, the more beautiful it becomes.
While Landon has a background in film and television, Heath Slane is an expert in fashion photography, no wonder why there is an emblem of fine balance and measured proportions in every Slane piece. It all started in her 16th birthday when she was given the opportunity to design her own ring as a birthday gift which made her to think about jewelry in a new way.
With artistic backgrounds, Landon and Heath’s insights and influences work well in fine sterling jewelry. So well that their designs have given birth to fifteen collections and numerous line expansions for ten years of constant design and flourished into a great deal of customers and loyal patrons.
Among these exquisite collections, the Slane & Slane Bee collection is the most adored of the collections. The Bee is inspired by the Napoleonic symbol of wisdom, strength and nobility.
The Voltaire collection is also an outstanding Slane choice of jewelry. This sterling silver and citrine ring is from Slane's Voltaire Collection. The ring features a 14mm square citrine surrounded by classic Column beading and secured by classic Column ribbed prongs. The ring is a size 7. Behold the elegance and alluring appeal of its beaded edges that bring out the unique design of this ring that will make you trend in any red carpet event.
Every woman's jewelry box must have a stunning pair of stud earrings. Slane's Voltaire Collection features these vibrant genuine blue topaz stud earrings in sterling silver and Slane's exclusive ravishing 8mm Emerald Cut Blue Topaz Earrings. These earrings feature sterling silver beaded edges and lever backs. Slane makes their jewelry in recycled sterling silver so it is not only fashionable and elegant but also eco-friendly.
Some of Slane’s finest collections are the Seapod, the Column Bellus, the superb Signature Collection, and their fabulous pearl collections. The Slane sisters have created a look that gorgeously blend with the outfits of every woman wherever she goes, day or night.
“Jewelry has always played an important role in my life. My mother and grandmother wear beautiful pieces, and Heath and I were both given the opportunity at 16 years old to select a stone and design a piece of jewelry for ourselves. Jewelry is how we celebrate the milestones of life,” says Landon when asked about the inspiration behind Slane.
“Heath lives in Los Angeles, and I am in New York, so we don’t work together on a day-to-day basis, but it’s bizarre how much we think alike. We have design summits six or eight times a year, and once I had an idea for a new piece and before I could tell Heath about it, she began talking about the same idea!” she adds.
Heath and Landon Slane design jewelry for the modern and intellectual women with a great appreciation for style. This desire to own sterling silver jewelry that mirrored the same quality as the quality of women, led sisters Heath and Landon Slane to create what they could not find in the world of designer jewelry. Slane begins with a vision, a vision to create exceptional jewelry that would make a statement and please even the toughest critics. Because it is often given for special occasions and celebrations, jewelry is usually an emotional purchase, the Slane sister's believe that jewelry is the most precious gift you can give to others and yourself. With this in mind, each Slane piece is perfectly crafted to soothe the soul and to uplift the spirit.

The Symbol of Bravery

Posted by Schiffman's at 1:55:00 AM in Slane (32)

There’s no greater symbol that best represents courage and bravery than the Maltese Cross – the very symbol worn as a military insignia by mighty knights from Malta as a badge to represent strength in their faith and their commitment. The eight points of the Maltese Cross are said to represent many things to a lot of people depending on their belief and orientation. One theory provides that the attributes of respect, holy devotion, compassion, bravery, honor, fearlessness, humanitarianism, and loyalty which coincides with the ancient Knights of Malta creed, are what the points represent. On the other hand, there are others who would say that they represent the eight beatitudes of traditional Christians. Regardless, the Maltese Cross has become synonymous with virtue, honor and bravery and is often worn by firefighters to represent their indomitable spirit and courage in aiding their fellow man.
With impeccable attention to detail and quality craftsmanship, a collection of Slane jewelries are devotedly inspired by the Maltese Cross to offer hand-cast, hand-assembled and hand-finished jewelry pieces that has the meaningful and inspirational symbol as their center-piece.
