Where to display a Ne'Qwa

Posted by Schiffman's at 7:00:00 AM in Ne'Qwa (32)

Ne'Qwa is that beautiful hand-painted glass items from wine stoppers to hanging ornaments. They have a distinct personalized ambiance that makes each item seem to breathe a living theme. A blue butterfly is seen hovering on the meadow, or a snow man showering in Christmas snow. Then there’s the cardinal and his holiday rendition. They are cute, elegant, conversation magnets. But where do you display a Ne'Qwa? The wine stoppers definitely go to your bar corner, but what of the ornaments? Well, they are designed as accents. You can place them on a desk or center table or put them atop cabinets. You can also adorn your dining set with a Ne'Qwa at the center, or put it behind a display cabinet with your other trinkets or collectibles. The rule of thumb is, make sure the Ne'Qwa stands out so your guests can spot it easily.

When you’re stumped what gift to buy

Posted by Schiffman's at 2:00:00 AM in Ne'Qwa (32)

There are occasions when you need to give someone a gift, but you have no idea what to give. All you know is the gift must be special or precious, but if you don’t personally know the recipient--a value client, for instance--how do you know the gift to pick? You’re in gift limbo zone and the best way to address it is to give something neutral so as not to offend or create an awkward situation (imagine giving a wine to someone battling alcoholism). Books are ideal for this cases. Whether the recipient loves reading or not, books give a caring, serene feel. Porcelain display like Ne'Qwa also suits the situation. It’s gender neutral, and the item is worth keeping even if it means in a box safely tucked in the cabinet.

So you want to be a wine expert?

Posted by Schiffman's at 11:00:00 AM in Ne'Qwa (32)

Are you're still amazed at how some snob can guess a wine's brand, the species that it's made from, the vineyard where it came from, and, yes, the year it was made, all by just sipping the wine? The answer is simple — he's tasted the wine before. Think about it, wouldn't you recognize the taste of a Big Mac the next time you bite into one? Sans the snob, wine tasting is really just like, well, eating a burger. The key is to build a repertoire of wine brands so you expand your taste knowledge. While you're at building up your mini wine cellar room, it's also helpful to invest in wine accessories like elegant wine glass and Ne'Qwa wine stoppers. These little extras help to project yourself as a true wine connoisseur, hopefully without the snottiness.

Angels in Ne'Qwa

Posted by Schiffman's at 7:00:00 AM in Ne'Qwa (32)

They are usually depicted as chubby little babies with wings, but angels are a lot more than that. They are believed to be spiritual beings lovingly sent to us from above to watch over us, to deliver a message, to guard and protect us from danger, and sometimes do battle with other spiritual beings on our behalf.
Regardless, it cannot be denied that the image of an angel or angels bring joyful announcements and of gleeful feeling as they are usually associated with the announcement of the birth of Jesus.  Much like the feeling replicated by their image, Dona Gelsinger, a resident artist of Ne’Qwa, intricately hand-painted on the inside of glass a glorious angel sharing the light of Christmas with the world.
Indeed, one of the easiest things to do in one’s life is to be in touch with an Angel! But how do you see one? Visit Schiffman’s at Friendly Center to have one for yourself.

Big design in small item

Posted by Schiffman's at 4:00:00 AM in Ne'Qwa (32)

Are you intimidated by the dominating presence of Ne'Qwa decorative ornaments? They can impressively draw attention in a big space, but if you’re cramped in your studio or an apartment unit, you can still enjoy the beautiful painted ornamental hang decors with the Ne'Qwa petite versions. The same translucent colors, detailed designs and elegant craftsmanship are patent in Ne'Qwa Decorative Ornaments-Petite, except for the size. Hang them in a corner and or place them on a wall shelf and see how it adds ambiance to your little space. You can collect angels, holiday icons or baby designs; the Ne'Qwa art doesn’t fail to elicit a collective “awe” from visiting guests. Merry Christmas every day!

Posted by Schiffman's at 6:00:00 AM in Ne'Qwa (32)

Ever dreamed of making every day Christmas when you were young? The Ne'Qwa hand-painted glass collections seem to have that in mind. Sure it’s got a whole set of Christmas themed pieces, but Ne'Qwa also has year-round whimsical designs. The Fleur de Lis Vines wine stopper has all the trappings of a fantasized escape from reality. The Magnolia, also a wine stopper, lures one to a snowy December morning. Ne'Qwa’s angel designs across its decorative ornament line are also deceptively Christmas in spirit, yet, go ahead, display them at any month and they’ll make perfect accents to any season. The Baby Carriage is almost dreamy, a scene not unlike a holiday early morn. The same feel is extended to the Be Still design, a revelation of serenity and goodwill. Isn’t it Christmas yet?

Small expresses big

Posted by Schiffman's at 2:00:00 AM in Ne'Qwa (32)

Express your gratitude or celebrate a personal occasion. The Ne'Qwa Relationship collection celebrates the family, couple and friendship in hand-painted glass. The glass figurines are designed in themes of small bells, egg-shaped and its elongated version. The 25th and 50th Anniversary bell figurines are poignant and they celebrate the milestone in quiet contentment. The Baby’s First has a welcoming feel exuded by the joyful colors. The Faith, Hope and Love piece is dreamy that carries an air of positivism. The Forever and Always is melancholic but hopeful; something in the art promises, yet the promise is not guaranteed. Has the Ne'Qwa artist encapsulated the complex reality of romance? In Hugs and Kisses, time seems frozen in the winter surrounding of a kid who is happy in his state of childhood. The Ne'Qwa Relationship collection is a small piece that reflects the huge importance we put in our loved ones.

Angels among us

Posted by Schiffman's at 9:00:00 AM in Ne'Qwa (32)

Do you believe in them? Mystic and magical they become even more so in Ne’Qwa decorative ornaments. The hand painted glass offers a long list of angel-themed designs that give any corner in your house a soft touch and magical feel . The Angel piece creates a deep purple backdrop to a glowing accent of the angel’s ivory white wings. It invites a tired mind for a restful sleep. The Angel Nativity, meantime, is innocence rendered in delicate glass let to hang as a celebration of purity. The Christmas spirit is evident, but the piece can complement, too, and add a child-like spirit, to your interior throughout the year. Likewise, the Dawn of Hope lends a positive glow around the glass. The art awash  in pink hues, incidentally, is in observance of the fight against breast cancer. Part of the proceeds from this piece is donated to research against the disease.

Don't send them to jail!

Posted by Schiffman's at 12:00:00 PM in Ne'Qwa (32)

Is it Christmas yet? My first grader kept asking. Not yet, I said. You just have to wait for six more months. “But that’s too long!” he said. I asked why he’d want it to be Christmas now; it turned out he got his prying hands on my box of Ne'Qwa Christmas set that I tucked in the attic after the holidays. The 12 Days of Christmas by Susan Winget is my first Ne'Qwa collection. I was drawn to the hand-painted glass art when my friend showed me her Ne'Qwa collection, from wine stoppers to the delicately looking but stunning vases. I fell in love with the depth of the art as it touches the virgin glass, and I knew a Ne'Qwa would find its way to our home. I thought buying a Ne'Qwa is a big deal for me, and what better way to remind myself of my first love with glass art than buying the Christmas set. I thought every after eleven months, I’d be opening this set and it would send me back to my first Ne'Qwa encounter.  Apparently, I might not wait for the whole year. My kid put the glass balls out in mid-summer and wouldn’t want me to “imprison” them again.

For whom the bell tolls--your loved one

Posted by Schiffman's at 1:40:00 AM in Ne'Qwa (32)

Are you looking for a unique anniversary gift to impress your partner? Consider a bell. Well, not a functional bell but a Ne'Qwa hand-painted glass bell. Designed by the artist, Susan Winget, Ne'Qwa has two of these bell pieces for those celebrating their silver or golden anniversaries. But it doesn’t matter, both bells are worth giving at any stage in your years of togetherness, if only because a Ne'Qwa is classic as it is timeless collectible. The glass is delicate but sturdy, and the paint is designed to last your lifetime. The flowers are rendered in subtle tones that transition in smooth gradients. Leaves and ribbons overlap each other in distinct hues. The glass bells seem to host an inner glow, as if suggesting the eternal love for your partner.

Art comes in small packages

Posted by Schiffman's at 2:00:55 AM in Ne'Qwa (32)

Glassmaking is not only the art of shaping glass into delicate, seamless lines of beauty. Ne'Qwa knows it also means putting the art of hand-painting on the glass to breathe life into the piece. Its distinct hand paint is evident in its line of wine stoppers that are easily transformed into collectibles. A blue butterfly is serenely hovering across the meadow; a snow man blushing in a white Christmas feel; and a cardinal singing a holiday tune. These themes are magically captured using detailed illustrations and color renditions and packed in the minute surface of a glass wine stopper. It is a skill that is almost magical; we know better—it is a Ne'Qwa craft that took years to master.

The Gift Like No Other

Posted by Schiffman's at 10:20:00 AM in Ne'Qwa (32)

Ne’Qwa is an ancient art from the Empire of China. Master artists who were well-trained especially for the craft of Ne’Qwa painted elaborate designs on the inside of glass bottles and snuff boxes. Many emperors and prominent art connoisseurs collected the intricate little pieces of Ne’Qwa Art. At present, only just a handful of Chinese artists know the old art of Ne’qwa. The Ne’Qwa Arts team are not Chinese, but are from different countries brought together in China for their love of the art. Their aim is to revive the precious craft of Ne’Qwa or reverse-painting at the same time give you more personalized and creative options for gift-giving. Each piece they create is handpainted by an artist following his own original design or adaptation from a famous artwork. They are perfect for event or corporate giveaways, too.
