From Jewelry to home decor

What is now a celebrated lavish creation that lends an artistic touch to your home interior used to showcase big, bold fashion jewelry in the eighties and nineties. Jay Strongwater jewelry—which is still sold as a collection—was styled to “razzle-dazzle”. In an interview with “Doha Today,” Strongwater, the founder, said his transition from purely jewelry to home décor isn’t unplanned or unexpected. He said he was drawn to clinical-like minimalism even at the height of his jewelry business. To him, jewelry designing is as organic to home interior accents as egg to bacon. “I remember I was working on creating this new earring one day twenty years… I was using those different bezels and twisted wires and all those jewelry components, and all of a sudden it turned into a beautiful picture frame,” he recalled one of his early forays into home décor.

Impressive figurine

Posted by Schiffman's at 1:00:00 AM in Jay Strongwater (2)

Jay Strongwater presents its Spring Collection in time to transform your living room or dining area into gardens of Eden. The figurines are lively and engaging, from birds to orchids and floral to religious. One of the most impressive works is the Mariah Orchid in Cachepot. It showcases the plant and flower as if blooming under the sun and each element is subtly crafted to appear natural. Made from imported Portuguese glass cachepot and pewter add-ons and finished with 14k gold and light brown antique finish, the figurine lends a vibrant accent to your interior. There’s an air of fragility to the sculpture, the orchid’s gently arching branch reveals the artisan’s mastery of mouth-blown glasswork. The figurine is hand-set with Swarovski crystals and is created in New York and Rhode Island.
