19th Century Beauty at its Best

Posted by Schiffman's at 4:00:00 AM in Richard Ginori (32)

In an age of technology, where every home appliance is shiny with stainless finish, one-button automation, and minimalist no-nonsense, have you ever wondered what it’s like to live in a 19th century home? Where Indian, Japanese, and Chinese cultures merge with European flourish, 19th century homes would usually have stalwart gambrel roof, honey-colored floors, and furniture designed in adaptation of peculiar beauties found in nature, sometimes with gold finish that creates a touch of opulence. Richard Ginori, maker of exquisite and elegant porcelain, captures the 19th century beauty and glamor, with its Voliere Collection. Lovely and charming, the Voliere Collection is in Empire-shaped table, tea, and coffee sets; and presented in 12 different graphic subjects framed by floral patterns delicately highlighted by a pure gold contour.

Your Own Brand of Unique

Posted by Schiffman's at 4:00:00 AM in Christopher Designs (36)

Every human being that has ever lived, or ever will live, is unique. You are truly one of a kind. However, one of the greatest tragedies of human life is trying to be unique in a sea of uniqueness. Many people feel that they are unique when in fact they are simply following another trend. When uniqueness is a trend, no one is very unique. Now think about not only how hard it is to accomplish uniqueness and how few successful people actually pass the strict dictionary definition of “unique.” With Christopher Designs, however, uniqueness is handed out to you in a silver platter, or to be precise in an exquisite diamond. Through its One of a Kind Collection under its Fine Jewelry Line, uniqueness is not too hard to find.

Innovative Luxury

Posted by Schiffman's at 4:00:00 AM in David Yurman (39)

It is said that innovation comes about because of the existence of a need. Human race has never been one to stay put if there’s a pressing need to go. We have always liked to grow, and we constantly seek to improve ourselves and become better – the main reason why we are where we are right now. David Yurman, known for its trinkets and body ornaments that make life more beautiful, happier and easier, continually offers its customers more options in terms of jewelries that are both fashion statements and works of art.  A great example would be its Forged Carbon Collection – geometrically grooved, it has carbon nanotubes that are compressed with resin under extreme heat and pressure creating a one-of-a kind charm that is both durable and luxurious.

Say it with Words

Posted by Schiffman's at 10:53:50 PM in Charles Krypell (41)

We’ve heard this before: great actions always speak louder than great words; and when it comes to love, it’s important to learn how to express your love without words. How many times have we tried making our loved-one’s favorite food, doing for them things they hate doing, or bringing them their favorite hot drink when they’re not feeling good? However, sometimes, great words can also show your love, keep the romance alive and make your beloved feel special. With Charles Krypell’s Ivy Love Bangles, showing your love for her has never been more beautiful, and wordy. Linked together by a clasp with the "I love you 7 days a week" inscription, this stunning sterling silver bangle is actually seven bracelets in one. Handcrafted to perfection, this piece is a daily reminder of your undying love.

When Giving is Receiving

Posted by Schiffman's at 10:51:18 PM in Simon Pearce (32)

Giving is a social act that ties us together for our mutual benefit. In our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives. Truly, when we give, we receive something in return — not the physical, tangible gift but the long-lasting, heart-warming feeling of satisfaction that comes with giving. Having realized that gift-giving is one of the most basic human virtues, Simon Pearce offers a way to make difference for others. Take for example its KP LoveYourBrain Hurricane piece, a gift handmade in America by Simon Pearce glassblowers, it allows the giver to support the LoveYourBrain Foundation — a non-profit organization that aims to improve the quality of life for people affected by brain injury. Created from lead-free glass using centuries-old techniques, the giver, with this piece, is truly the receiver.

The Clifton 1830 Pocket Watch Five Minute Repeater

Posted by Schiffman's at 7:58:09 PM in Baume & Mercier (33)

The name of the watch is a handful. Isn't only that. Baume & Mercier only created 30 of these beauties. Yes, that's limited edition and limited editions are usually premiumly priced. And with this one, it's the same thing. Each is at $50,000. But what won't disagree with them as this thing is just so cool. It is not just that it is in 18k red gold. It also has a different take on aesthetics and design. A lot of wrist watches are inspired by pocket watch design. This pocket watch is inspired by wrist watches. It is also 50mm wide giving it a little desk clock feel. Hopefully I've been good enough this year that Santa would get me this beaut

The Charm of (tangible) Photographs

Posted by Schiffman's at 7:56:39 PM in The 925 (32)

In today's digital world, we rarely print or 'develop' photos anymore. We just point, shoot and keep them in our devices. But not to move backwards, I still find charm in having physical copies of my valued memories. And I want them to last, a long time too. The more precious the memory is, the more sturdy and elegant the frame I'd rather keep it in. And for these special memories and people, I keep them in custom silver frames made by a company known as The 925. Styles range from Victorian looks to contemporary ones. You'll definitely find a style that would fit any room. May the room be your office, your den or your master bedroom, you can find designs to match.

Ball Watch: A Piece of Americana

Posted by Schiffman's at 7:54:22 PM in Ball (6)

The beauty of the classics never die. They exude this sort of charm that transports us back to the distant past. It gives us an idea how it would be like to live back then and be back then. This, I think, is a healthy romanticism that help us keep our traditions and honor our heritage. As a watch enthusiast, I like to have pieces that have some sort of history in them. In that sense, they would not just be a functional item or something to show off but something that connects me to the whole grand scheme of things. This is why I always check out Ball Watch. With its many contribution to the railroad and transportation industry, its easily a brand that signifies a piece of Americana.

Add Grace and Beauty

Posted by Schiffman's at 7:03:32 PM in Waterford Crystal (38)

Our homes are our sanctuaries. It is where we lay, we live, enjoy our families, have friends over and find comfort in. That is why it is pretty important to make our homes the best place to live in the whole wide world for each of us. And we do this all the time. We make repairs, improvements, put up paintings and other designs. For a lot of people though it all stops at interior designing. But for the learned and discerning crowd, it's not just interior design but lifestyle design. And to facilitate this lifestyle design, interiors should be well and good plus also, the things we use help us get enveloped by grace and beauty.

For glassware that do just that, look to trusted brands such as Waterford Crystal. See their collections over at Schiffman's at Friendly Center.

Tricks from savvy gifters

Posted by Schiffman's at 7:01:48 PM in Anna Weatherley (31)

Holidays are approaching fast and gift shopping time is drawing to a close. If you are still wishy-washy on what to buy your friends and parents, well here's a good tip I've learned from the gift shopping savvy. For gifts, it’s always good to give something that they can use. Well, that's being captain obvious a little but that filters through the next and arguably more important criterion - a gift that they will easily remember you by. Well, this can be something they can display in their homes or something that they can use on special occasions. The latter is also a special trick to get you associated with that special good vibe feeling. What I'd likely go for is something that satisfies these categories and maybe more. One brand that satisfies all these is Anna Weatherley whose china pieces are wonderfully designed. Design ranges from Asian, Old-World European and contemporary ones - creations that would fit any home style.

If she is special. You better get her something special even more. It may be an experience or a gift. Maybe, you can go with a mix of both. If I were you I'd do the mix of both. Take her out to a fine dining restaurant or a simple walk on the beach after a halfing a bottle wine. You can always be creative in choosing the setting to make one moment special and worth remembering. And if you'd like to throw in a gift, you should make sure to look for something that screams special, exquisite and unforgettable. One maker of such unforgettable jewelry is Wellendorff. All its pieces are exquisitely crafted with that unmistakable aura of elegance and mystic surrounding them. Give one to her in the most romantic setting you can come up with, she'll truly feel as special as she should.
